Pumping Septic Tanks
Septic tanks need to be pumped regularly to keep your lateral system free of solids, depending on whether or not you have a garbage grinder, a large family, or small children. The best thing to do is pump it after the first year of use. Ask your pumper how it looks to determine your usage and also if you are using it correctly. Septic tanks should never be ignored. Waiting till you have a problem can be very costly. Pumping every 2-3 years is recommended.

Septic Tanks & Anti-bacterial soap
Avoid products that are anti-bacterial or non-biodegradable. They can harm the essential bacteria culture needed to treat the waste. Also, plastic products can plug the baffles and cause back-ups in the home.
